Adam wood mantels, designed by the Adam brothers of England in the eighteenth century, are characterized by the use of highly decorated scrolls, frets, festoons, bows and swags. Pilasters are enhanced with delicate reeded and fluted mouldings that have complimenting plinth and capital blocks. Bold crown mouldings accented with or without dentil.
